Scott Bland for
The Board of Visitors
Voting ballots emailed/mailed August 6th - must be returned by September 10th
Preserve and strengthen the history, culture, and distinctive rigor of The Citadel.

In an ever-changing educational and geopolitical environment, it is essential to uphold the institution’s core values of Duty, Honor, and Respect, which remain foundational to developing principled leaders. Scott's experience as an enlisted soldier and commissioned officer, healthcare executive, small business owner, and graduate-level business professional equips him to contribute meaningfully to the Board of Visitors’ stewardship of The Military College of South Carolina.
Scott's Priorities Are Clear:
• Preserve the Citadel’s culture of merit-based achievement. Rank, recognition, and leadership must be earned - never given.
• Protect the Fourth Class System, a defining element of the Citadel experience that must never be compromised.
• Restore and expand the “family-style mess” experience Corps-wide, reinforcing accountability, leadership, and camaraderie.
• Ensure the institution does not drift toward becoming “just another college with uniforms and an ROTC program,” but remains a uniquely rigorous military college with national distinction.
